SmartLipo is similar to traditional liposuction in that both procedures remove fat. However, SmartLipo employs the use of a laser in addition to traditional liposuction to achieve the final result. The laser typically decreases the amount of bruising involved and increases the tissue tightening that can be achieved over traditional liposuction. In addition, laser liposuction is more efficient in the treatment of fibrous fat, such as in the neck or in the chest of men who exhibit gynecomastia. SmartLipo is typically performed in the office setting rather than in the operating room of a Surgery Center or hospital.
- Eliminate stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise
- Restore the contour in areas with persistent fat deposits
- Rectify regions that are negatively impacted by weight loss and pregnancy
- Give a more refined appearance to the chin, neck and lower face area
- Create a tighter, firmer and more shapely figure
Our Customized Approach
SmartLipo, a laser-assisted lipolysis procedure, is performed utilizing a small cannula (or tube) about the size of the tip of a pen. During the procedure, only the cannula is inserted under the skin. The laser delivers energy directly to the fat cells through the cannula that causes the fat cells to rupture. The liquefied fat is then gently suctioned out. During the process, new collagen production is stimulated which results in tissue tightening. Dr. Scott D. Chapin, a National Physician Trainer for SmartLipo, will customize your treatment based on the nature of your concerns.
Day of Your Procedure
Your procedure will be performed in our Doylestown office under local anesthesia. On the day of your procedure, Dr. Chapin and his highly trained team will meet with you to review all details and answer any questions before the procedure. Generally, SmartLipo takes about an hour to perform depending on how many areas are being treated. You will receive exceptional and comprehensive care following your procedure to ensure your comfort.
SmartLipo Triplex is a minimally invasive procedure that only requires the smallest of incisions and local anesthesia. The recovery period is kept to a minimum and may include light bruising, but patients are generally able to return to normal activities within a day or two. Visible improvements will begin to show within a few weeks and the skin will return to a normal appearance after a few months. The full benefit of your final result is apparent four months post-procedure.
