Our Customized Approach This procedure may be performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia or may require an overnight stay Doylestown Hospital. Dr. Chapin will make discreet incisions along the hairline and around both ears. He may extend the incisions to the scalp if necessary. Through the incisions, he will reposition displaced fat, tighten the muscles and remove excess skin and fat. Lastly, he re-drapes the skin more tightly over the underlying structure, closes the incisions and places surgical dressings around the face. Day of Your Procedure Your procedure will be performed under general anesthesia at a Bucks County or Montgomery County AAA Certified Facility. On the day of your procedure, Dr. Chapin and his highly trained team will meet with you to review all details and answer any questions before surgery. Generally, face lift surgery takes about an hour to perform. You will receive exceptional and comprehensive care following your procedure to ensure your comfort. Face Lift and Neck Lift Recovery It is essential to keep your head elevated at all times without bending, lifting or engaging in strenuous activities for three to five days following your procedure. Oral pain medication will be prescribed to alleviate any discomfort you experience. Dr. Chapin will remove your stitches anywhere from three to seven days after surgery. Dr. Chapin will provide complete preoperative and postoperative care instructions. He will monitor and advise when patients can gradually resume their daily activities including exercise. Recovery is an individual process and can vary based on a multitude of factors. The best approach is to listen to your body and do not force yourself to return to everyday activities before you are ready. Generally, patients are able to go back to work or normal routine within ten to 14 days depending on the procedure performed.
