Spider Vein | Varicose Vein Removal

Spider Vein & Varicose Vein Removal Philadelphia, PA

As time goes on, you may notice that some unsightly, colored veins have developed on your legs. Both spider veins and varicose veins can be caused by genetics, pregnancy, weight fluctuations, hormones, and the natural aging process. Spider veins are small blue, red, or purple vessels that are visible through the skin but are not raised. Varicose veins are large, swollen blood vessels that protrude through the skin. The two treatment options for spider veins and varicose veins are sclerotherapy and laser vein removal.

Benefits Of Spider Vein Treatment

Spider Vein Removal Can:

Our Approach To Spider Vein Treatment

During your consultation with one of our skin care specialists, your concerns will be discussed, and you will be provided with a customized treatment plan to achieve your goals.

Sclerotherapy is a procedure where a solution is injected into the veins that causes them to collapse. The collapsed veins are eliminated through the body’s natural filtering process. The number of injections and treatments will depend on the amount and size of the veins. Laser vein removal can be utilized for milder spider vein cases. The laser is programmed to target the colored broken blood vessels under the skin. The high-intensity blast of light from the laser will penetrate the surface of the skin to the deeper level of the dermis, and the light is then absorbed by the blood in vascular lesions. The heat generated in this process dissolves the veins, resulting in a more rejuvenated appearance.

Spider Vein Treatment

Sclerotherapy and laser vein removal are performed on an outpatient basis and typically take less than an hour. For sclerotherapy, a small, fine needle will be utilized to inject the solution into the leg vein. A compression garment or compression tape may be applied to the treated area.

Spider Vein Recovery

Sclerotherapy and laser vein treatments have little to zero downtime. You can continue your daily routine activities immediately post treatment. Avoid strenuous activity for two to three days and protect the treated area from sun exposure for two weeks. Any mild bruising that may occur will resolve itself quickly.
