Botox | Dysport in Philadelphia, PA with Dr. Scott Chapin

While aging skin is unavoidable, some wrinkles are formed by repetitive motions and muscular contractions, even in young adults. With every muscular contraction, the visible signs of aging, such as forehead lines and crow’s feet, can become more pronounced. Botox and Dysport are injectable wrinkle reducers, specifically designed to temporarily prevent facial muscle contractions that cause these signs of aging to appear. Injectable Botox® and Dysport® are non-surgical treatments that aim to refresh your youthful appearance by addressing cosmetic concerns like fine lines and wrinkles on the upper portion of the face including between the eyebrows and across the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Scott D. Chapin and his team of certified aesthetic nurse specialists are highly trained in Botox and Dysport  injection techniques. At Chapin Aesthetics, we aim to help you refresh your appearance with natural-looking, never exaggerated results, making them your choice as the best Botox providers in Doylestown, PA.

What Are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators are minimally invasive injectable treatments that reduce the signs of aging by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles that can cause skin to wrinkle. These neuromodulators are derived from a purified form of botulinum toxin, a bacterium found naturally in the environment, known as Clostridium botulinum.

Injectable neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport work by interrupting nerve signals to reduce repetitive muscle movements in strategically targeted areas, diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and smoothing skin for a refreshed, youthful look. Following a Botox or Dysport treatment, patients begin noticing results in 10 to 14 days and improvements will continue for about a month. Results typically last three to four months.

Not only is there no downtime and minimal discomfort associated with these treatments, but FDA-approved Botox and Dysport injections take only a few minutes to temporarily reduce moderate to severe dynamic lines and wrinkles. Botox and Dysport also prevent future lines and wrinkles from developing.

Dynamic wrinkles develop due to repetitive facial expressions, meaning even young adults will notice them. These wrinkles can give the face a tired, angry, or older-looking appearance. Typically, dynamic wrinkles are the earliest signs of aging to appear on the face. While they are typically visible when the face is in motion, eventually they can become more pronounced and visible without movement.

These neuromodulators help reduce the appearance of:

Neuromodulators also play an integral role in non-surgical facelifts alongside dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation.

What Areas Can Botox Target?

BOTOX® is the first and only injectable treatment that’s FDA approved to temporarily improve three different cosmetic issues: moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines), forehead lines, and crow’s feet. These lines are all known as dynamic wrinkles, which develop because of repetitive facial expressions.

Dynamic wrinkles form in the areas where the skin creases up whenever you smile, frown, raise your eyebrows, squint, or make other expressions. They are often the earliest signs of aging to appear on the face and are mostly visible when the face is in motion, but they can eventually become more pronounced and noticeable at all times.

These wrinkles can make give the face a tired and angry appearance or cause you to look older than you actually are. Since these lines develop on the forehead and near the eyes, BOTOX® is primarily used on the upper third of the face.

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox or Dysport?

Generally, good candidates for Botox or Dysport are in good overall health and are looking for minimally invasive treatments to address fine lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contractions. Neuromodulator injections are best for patients who may not be ready for cosmetic surgery.
