Our Customized Approach
Dr. Scott Chapin will make a surgical incision from within the hair-bearing scalp. Through the incision, he lifts the forehead skin to smooth out wrinkles and creases. He may adjust any muscles that are causing the brow to furrow or sag. Dr. Chapin will trim excess skin and tighten the remaining skin across the forehead. Lastly, he will close the incisions with sutures and place surgical dressings. A brow lift can be performed as a singular procedure or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as a facelift and eyelid surgery.
If Dr. Chapin elects to use the endoscopic approach, he will make three short incisions along the top of the scalp and on the temples (hidden within the hair). Through the incisions, he will insert an endoscope: a thin tube with a small camera attached to one end, which projects images of the internal structures of the forehead onto a screen in the operating room. Although the endoscopic technique is less invasive than traditional surgery, it is not always the most effective option for every patient. Dr. Chapin will review this option with you during your consultation.

Day of Your Procedure
Your procedure will be performed under general or twilight anesthesia at a Bucks County or Montgomery County AAA-certified facility. On the day of your procedure, Dr. Chapin and his highly trained team will meet with you to review all details and answer any questions before surgery. Generally, brow lift surgery takes about an hour to perform. You will receive exceptional and comprehensive care following your procedure to ensure your comfort.
Brow Lift Recovery
For the first few days after surgery, you will have some swelling and bruising. These side effects will gradually subside. If you experience any post-operative discomfort, Dr. Chapin will prescribe oral pain medication for relief. You should rest and relax during your recovery, avoiding any strenuous activities. Dr. Chapin will provide complete preoperative and postoperative care instructions. He will monitor and advise when patients can gradually resume their daily activities, including exercise
